  • Synchron Player scrollable articulation list

    Paul,

This feature is holding me back from implementing this otherwise fantastic VSL innovation.

With the VI player I use program change where each matrix is an articulation patch, letting me use a

single chaseable command to trigger a patch.  I use anywhere from 20 -80 matrixes (articulations) in an

instrument, and the way that VIPro handles this aspect really has been working for me.

I have Synchron Strings I, and Synchron Appassionata and I want to start using the new player in my work.

Hope that this may be implemented soon!

    Thanks

OK I must admit, neglecting the two additional dimensions the x+y axis of each matrix offers to controle much more different patches, might appear for me perhaps a bit unusual, but you are right it is even possible to use VI like that.

But what keeps you from using the Synchron-player exactly in the same way?

You can (like the Matrix-selection via Programchange) select the positions of the first list with Programchange and as far as I can see there doesn't seem to a limit to ad patches in the First List  - except the fact that the Player currently tries to keep the whole list present what makes each single item the smaller the more items you have in that list. So OK, perhaps an option to chose wether to scroll or to fit the whole in the Windowsize would be helpful for you. But fundamently I think the technical ability is already there to use the Synchron player even in the way you are looking for.

(meanwhile it seems to me a bit a pitty not to make use of the incredible smart and musical reasonable useful multidimensional Patch-organisation-concept, which would presumably make even for you many thing much easier -  but thats just my humble opinion)

  • Yes, you are right that it does function correctly.  It is just unreadable.  Thanks for the reply.
