    Hi,
    I'm about to buy VSL First Edition, and try to find out which samplerplatform to use. I would like to use a dedicated PC for VSL. My mainseq is logic on a G5 but I don't think the architecture of EXS24 goes that well together with VSL. I suppose that leaves me with Halio/Kontakt and Giga. I have Gigastudio 3 for the purpose but are there any advantages in fx. buying Halion/Kontakt?

    i absolutely despise Logic but it is in fact working well with VSL

    I love Logic. In fact, I married it.

    Okay, I use Logic on a G5 with VSL. This is ONLY possible if you also use Redmatica's EXSManager Pro, in my opinion. I spent many months before I discovered it (and now that VSL officially touts the program, you can see that it must be considered a crucial piece of the puzzle).

    However, even with this setup, the inane limitation of 36 simultaneous EXS instances keeps coming up (am I doing something wrong, Evan, or is the "multiple instances of Logic" solution the only workable one for us??).

    I don't love Logic - yet! Maybe later it will get better when and if it reinvents itself into a true 64 bit application without numerous bug issues.

    I don't understand what you mean by 36 simultaneous EXS instances???
