  • VEPro + SE + Sibelius: Staccatos timing is drifty

    Hi,

I started to put together a template in Sibelius, and for the most part things are working ok.

But the timing is a little out when having more notes, and faster tempo. Short string articulations start to drift in tempo.

Is this because extra midi data gets sent quite a lot, is it possibly congesting the playback?

My specs are below, and will send files over if someone could take a look.

  • Hello Jussi!

As we wanted to keep the samples as natural and human as possible, the attack time between articulations and instruments may differ. With short notes at a fast tempo and with quantized notes as in notation software this may lead to unstable timing in some places. It has nothing to do with the amount of MIDI data produced. I see two options for you.

    - Edit the playback start position of single notes or whole passages with the Sibelius Inspector.

    - Try the Start offset function of our Vienna Instruments Pro player for articulations that seem to be late. You can order a free demo license here:
