  • Synchron Strings Full Library - All Mic-On Problem

    Hello,

I have just tested and failed to play smooth when I set all mic positions using 1a to 7a in VI Pro cells with each single patct. (Close, Mid L+R, Main L+R, Main Center + Back + Main Ls+Rs, Auro HL+HR, Auro HLs+HRs)

Yes, I know it's abnormal and maybe beyond software's limit. But even if I did this with my computer(Octa Core, SSD, 64GB RAM and so forth), it was very hard to play 4 notes simultaneously. As I tried to play Major 7th Chord, the fourth note sounded not very well, not to say, silent. The settings of latency and voices were enough to play.

Even when I tried to move notes one another, it stopped once for very short time and started to sound again, just like playing immediately after releasing.

So I attempted to reduce the mics one by one. It was not until any of 2 mic left that it sounded with no problem. Is this why 'Room-Mix' preset was made of only 2 mics combined ? Using over 3 mics at the same time (especially Long patches) within one cell in VI Pro causes unexpected internal algorithm issue ?

I wonder each mic has to be used saperately or the intended use of maximum mics positions is one or two simultaneously.

  • Hi Valkyria,

With Velocity XFADE on, this can be quite taxing for the streaming, but if your Preload size is set to 8192 or higher, it shouldn't be a problem to play back multiple microphone positions.

You can see how many voices are streaming in your VI/PRO Advanced View / Perform Tab.

If you want to play chords, it's a very good idea to use the Room-Mix presets or mute the channels you don't need for composing, then add the additional channels when it comes to mixing, maybe with a higher latency setting.

    Best,
    Paul

That sounds better than before. I hope Synchron Player enables us to play with the maximum flexibility as well as easy-to-change articulations. :)
