  • VEPro 6 Crashing during basic operation

    Hi,

I have been exploring VEPro 6 to expand my knowledge of it - and I have found a repeatable crash.

I am on a Mac using OSX 10.13.2m Cubase Pro 9.5.10 Build 79 and VEPro 6.0.16751. The iMac is a iMac 5k Late 2015 i7 with 24gb RAM and 1TB internal flash. iStat Pro showing lots of Ram and CPU free.

I am running VEPro Server 64 bit on the same machine.

I was playng around with unpreserved instances, to get a better understanding of how they work, when I found the following:

I created a single instance ine VEPro via the Cubase plug-in and selected new.

In this instance I created two instrument plug-ins. One is Kontakt 5.7.3 and the other Pianoteq Stage 6.0.3

This instance is de-coupled from the daw. If I then close the Cubase project, the instance disappears from VEPro - as it should. However, VEPro will then immediately crash after any attempt to open another instance, or even just by clicking on it's window.

This happens without fail every single time.

I have only two instruments in the instance, and they do re-open as they should if I restart VEPro - but I havent tested with more instruments.

    Mike

  • Hi Mike,

Please send the crash report to support@vsl.co.at, we will take a look.

Are you using the latest versions of Kontakt and Pianoteq? Which version of VE Pro 6?

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

Thanks for your response. I will send the crash log over shortly - but I gave all the version numbers in my post above, and both Pianotec and Kontakt are the latest version according to the Moddart Website and Native Access.

Thank you for such a quick reply.

    Mike.
