Surround demo

Hi Herb et al!

I heard that VSL is presenting a surround demo at the Musikmesse. Will there be a chance to make this surround demo of VSL downloadable?
I'd appreciate having a listen to it in my environment....

The linear PCM-files would be too large, and I hesitate to encode it to AC3 or DTS, due to the data-reduction involved. We'll see if we can come up with a sensible solution, but please don't hold your breath for it. Best, /Dietz - Vienna Symphonic Library

One minute of 16 bit 6 channel audio would be something like 30 megs. That's not a large download. One minute would be sufficient for such a demonstration.

I am a little surprised about this statement, since Herb posted on another thread that he would look for a possibility to post the surround demo audio files!!!

No need to be surprised - I posted that myself. And yes - I'm still looking into the possibilities.

A kind request to everybody: Please understand that the mere fact that something _could_ be done doesn't necessarily mean that it _should_ be done. While I appreciate everybody's interest in our projects, I don't want to explain the difference between "Work in Progress" and "Official Product Demo" if someone feels the urge to bad-mouth our results.
