  • Festgesang zum Gutenbergfest

Has anyone created a recording of this work by Felix Mendelssohn?

I believe most of instruments have been sampled which are listed in the score.

I have a hope that someone can record the "Lied" movement using Dimention Brass and the Historic Winds, neither of which I have.

Here is a link to the score online: http://imslp.org/wiki/Festgesang_zum_Gutenbergfest%2C_WoO_9_(Mendelssohn%2C_Felix)

    Thanks,

    DH

  • I have a Finale version if that would help.

  • Sounds interesting. the historic Brass do not seem to be the problem here. Perhaps I might do it to test the upcomming Eastwest Choirs as soon they are released.

    Are you in a hurry?

  • I am not in any hurry. I would like to hear a good recording of this movement. It would also be interesting to hear the music without a chorus.

I would also like to mention that I cannot find a recording of this work at all. I have searched for some time without any result.

  • Here is a version for Chorus and Fortepiano which pretends to be the first recording (2001)

    Do you still have it?

MusicXML? Midi? I'll take any format.

    Thanks!
