I use Sibelius with VSL and recently having a lot of trouble. The main problem is that the articulations being pulled up are not consistent with the notation, and also over time. First off, I make sure that the correct soundsets are loaded and the Vienna house style is also selected.
The issue is that the same note may play with different articulations depending on where I start the playback. If I start from the middle of a score, a legato slur often pulls into a trill, annoyingly! and quite often a staccato triggered for a note that is inside a slur. I often need to start playback from the beginning of the score for the right aritculations to be played back, but even if I do, some notes are still played wrongly.
What is weird is that the same note can be played with the correct or wrong articulation, almost randomly.
I noticed this problem only recently. To solve this issue I was thinking of creating a brand new playback configuration and doing everything from scratch.
But please let me know if anyone (usually its Andi who promptly comes to the rescue!) has insights into what could be going on.
