  • VEP sample loading

When I load samples into VEP I would think they should all be there when VEP says the process is finished. However, most of the times there are dropouts at the first playback and the ressources monitor (W10) indicates that VEP is accessing the hard drive. Usually things work out just fine after I let the DAW play the whole piece, but it's quite annoying having to do this (esp. with some longer stuff) after VEP is supposed to have finished loading.

Is there a trick to it or is it a bug?

  • Hi JGH,

    Which samples are you loading?

  • This was within a larger project. The dropouts where most striking in (Dimension) strings and I think in some percussion part.

  • Hi JGH,

Thanks, I will see what I can find out. Did you try to increase the Preload time for those samples yet (in the Directory Manager)?

This should help with the allocation time of the samples on SSD drives and hopefully resolved the issue.
