HELP!!! i have a older imac that was slowing down once i load my plugins so i picked up VEP 6 as well as a 2009 mac pro that has been upgraded. i've loaded all my plugins on the mac pro but when i start digital performer it does not see a server for VEP. can someone tell me how to setup my system so both computer are talking with each other from the enternet swich?

  • Hi,

    What are your network settings?

You should definitely use static IP addresses, and avoid 169.x.x.x addresses (these are automatically assigned by your computer and tend to change).

    Please try the following:

Manually assign one of these IP addresses to the computers in your setup: 192.168.0.x or 10.0.0.x, and assign a subnet mask of 255.255.255.0 (leave the other fields blank), then it should work.

  • i'm on a mac so should i do this on both computers? and not sure of the ip addresses you gave me is it: 192.168.0 or is it 192.168.10.0.0

  • Hi,

you can either use 192.168.0.x OR (a different network) 10.0.0.x

Choose any number from 5-200 for "x" (the first numbers are often already taken by, e.g., the router or switch).

    Hi,

No problem. Here is a guide to screensharing between 2 Macs, and I'm sure you will also find some videos.
