  • [SOLVED] Trumpets not switching properly

    Hi, all,

I am running Sibelius 7.5 and Vienna Ensemble. I have trumpets loaded in my Sibelius score that switch properly back and forth between muted and unmuted, however, when the trumpets are muted, the only attack they use is storzato, which sucks! My manual sound ID is set to brass.trumpets.trumpet and brass.trumpets.trumpet.mute (under the VE Woodwinds + Brass Sound Set). In Vienna Ensemble, I have 15S Trumpet ensemble mute preset loaded. Other than writing in every single change with a keyswitch (which is not always working either), is there a fix for this or do I have something wrongly loaded?

    Best wishes,

    Joel Love

  • Hello Joel!

It seems to me that you have a mismatch between sound set and VI preset. The VI preset "15S Trumpet ensemble", which can be loaded from the path Sibelius/Special Edition 5.2/SE Vol. 2/21 Brass, can only work correctly with the sound set "VE Special Edition".

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Hi there --- I'm returning to this now that I have migrated to the Synchron Player. Still using Sibelius (now it's Ultimate) I have looked around to see if there are instructions on the procedure to switch between mute and open trumpet within a Sibelius file and I have yet to find a solution. Could someone there point me to the correct resource? Thanks for your time!
