  • Constant Crashing VEP 6-Logic Pro 10.3.2

VEP 6 Pro Server (latest version) is constantly crashing.  Running with Logic 10.3.2 (not crashing).

Running 13 instances of VEP in Logic: Libraries from Kontakt (full) v5.6.8, EW Play, v5.0.4 (separate SSDs for each)

Mid 2010 Mac Pro 2x3.46 Ghz 6 core

    Running El Capitan OSX 10.11.6

    64 GB Ram

    Streaming from SSDs

Ran smoothly all day yesterday. Same sequence, template same software versions of everything.

Never had issues like this before.

  • Hi jzuker,

Please send your crash report as a text file to support@vsl.co.at, so we can look into it.

    Thanks, Paul.

I actually opened a new, empty project and loaded a fresh template from scratch, and although it is a time consuming hassle to recreate what is a fairly large template, it does seem to have resolved the issue.  I'm not sure what caused the problem, but I suppose that's the downside of going for the "nuclear" option.

If it becomes problematic again, I will copy and send you the crash report.

The other thing that occured to me was that I had been using a Korg nanoKontrol 2 for Midi cc control. I unplugged that as well. Would that cause any conflicts with the latest versions? It hadn't been a problem before, but perhaps there are known, more recent issues.

    Best,

    John Z.

  • Hi John,

Thanks for the udpate. If you like, you can still send the crash-log, so that we can check what is causing the crash.

Incidentally, I'm also using the nanaKontrol 2 when I'm travelling, shouldn't cause any troubles.

    Best,
    Paul

    Thanks, Paul.

I've sent the crash log as you suggested. I'll plug the nanoKontrol back in ( :
