  • Will Vienna Suite Work With MIR Pro?

    I recently purchased MIR Pro, which I really like a lot, and now I am wondering if I should purchase Vienna Suite?

    My guess is that some of the Vienna Suite Plug-ins would not be used with MIR Pro such as the two reverbs. I also suppose that if the Vienna Instruments presets and EQ presets are being used in MIR Pro there would be no need for the Vienna Suite equalizer.

    So that leaves the compressor, limiter and exciter. I assume one would (could) still use the compressor, exciter and limiter from Vienna Suite with MIR Pro without conflict with MIR Pro? Would one use these three plug-ins to create typical orchestral performances?

    sorry for the late reply. To be honest, I had high hopes that your question would trigger several user-generated replies, but it seems to be a slow week, or something like that. 😊

    Most of the plug-ins in Vienna Suite (and Vienna Suite Pro) can make sense for more elaborated mixes in cunjunction with MIR Pro, most notably all dynamics: This is an area MIR Pro doesn't cover by itself. But also the EQs could be helpful, especially due to the fact that they come with hundreds of tailor-made presets for most Vienna Instruments. Even the Vienna Suite's Convolution Reverb can make sense when working with MIR Pro as soon as you use advanced IR-sets like the much-lauded "Timbral Impulses" from Numerical Sound.

    And as soon as you work in any kind of surround format, Vienna Suite Pro is an inevitable collection of tools anyway, as there is little competition on the market as a whole.

    All in all, Vienna Suite (Pro) and MIR Pro cover overlapping needs partly, but they reinforce each other _a lot_. 😊

    Thanks. Dietz. I really appreciate your willingness to help with questions like this.  So far, my biggest issue using MIR Pro is "muddy" sound when a full orchestra of instruments are playing in a forte passage. Would Vienna Suite have anything to help with gaining more "clarity" with my mix?
