  • What's the best product for me to purchase?

    Hello all,

I am a composer and composition teacher by trade. I use Finale but as I'm sure many of you know, the playback on Finale is pretty horrible. I've decided it's time for me to upgrade, but I have no idea where to start. Which VSL product would be best for me? I will be using it primarily for playback in the classroom and for reference purposes, but am not planning on needing it for commercial use. Thanks for your input!

  • Hi,

someone else in the the forum could give you some better and clever advice than me, but I'm glad to give you my 2 cents.
VSL it's a great choice to get (far more) better samples for Finale's playback. Everything depends from the budget you want to spend, but you don't need to make great sound mock-up, so I think you need a complete collection of orchestral sound, with all the articulations you may need.
So I'd go with the Special Edition Vol 1 Bundle. You could also start with the Special Edition Vol 1 and then add the volume I plus  in the future. With this collection you will have all the orchestral instruments (every family, woodwinds, brass, percussion, strings) with a great variety of articulations.

    Hope it helps, Best,

    Fabio

  • In my opinion, Special Edition Vol 1 — even without the Plus extension you can purhase later, but always consider saving on bundles — would fit your needs.

    Hope it helps
