staccato = tremolo

Hi

Since I updated to the latest version of Vienna Ensemble all staccatos in my scores are suddenly played back as tremolos in Sibelius. Also arco on my scores no longer removes staccato. There are probably other issues as well but these are the ones I've discovered now.

How can I correct this?

Most likely this has nothing to do with updating Vienna Instruments & Vienna Ensemble. Wrong articulation changes can have different reasons. Please check the Troubleshooting chapter of the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual. For most such problems you should be able to find the reason and solution there.

I still haven't ben able to find a solution for this problem. Staccatos in solo strings plays back as tremolos. The troubleshooting guide in Optimizing Sibelius Playback with Vienna Ensemble says nothing about problems with wrong articulations being played back. I can't work with articulations no more.

The Troubleshooting chapter of the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual includes 12 points with possible reasons why articulations might get switched wrongly. If you can't find a solution, you could send your score and screenshots of your Sibelius playback configuration and Vienna Ensemble to support@vsl.co.at and I will take a look at your files.

I found the problem! I used Special Edition Plus as soundset. When I switched to Special Edition the articulations problems disappeared. Funny thou that I've used Edition Plus as soundset a long time without problems.

Good to read that you were able to solve your problem. I have seen in our records that you have Special Edition Vol. 1 and Vol. 2, but none of the PLUS libraries. The Special Edition PLUS sound set can only work correctly with the Special Edition PLUS presets loaded.
