    Hi there,

    I installed the trial version of Vienna Instruments Pro and am using it with my SONAR X1 Producer DAW.  It seems to work ok on first run but if I exit SONAR and close Vienna Ensemble, SONAR will no longer start up again.  It just seems to crash out and does this all the time until I restart my PC.

    Does anyone know what would be causing this?

    Hi again,

    This is still happening even though I have removed VI Pro from my system.  I have since installed a MIR Pro 24 which is working but when I exit out of SONAR, SONAR will not start again.

    Please can anyone help?

    Hi Chris,

    Which OS are you working with? What does Sonar say when you tell them about the crashes/hangs?

    You can create a process dump when Sonar hangs, please see the following image on how to create a minidump with process explorer:

    Hi Paul,

    I'm using Windows 7 64-bit.  I've not contacted Cakewalk yet as this problem only started happening after I used VI Pro/MIR Pro 24. 

    I will have a look at this minidump thingy, though.

    Hi Paul,

    Ok, so I tried the minidump thingy and can see that SONARPDR.exe is not closing down when I exit SONAR so this is probably stopping SONAR from starting again.  I can kill the process tree and then SONAR will start again.  I only see this problem since using Vienna tools.

    Sorry for the delay. I have answered your mail, everything works as expected on my Win 7 computer with Sonar X1. 

    Best idea is to contact Cakewalk directly about this.
