  • Components folders

    A question for Mac users.

For some reason I have two different Components folders on my system. VSL installs component files there. My folders are located as follows:

    1. Macintosh HD/Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components

    2. Macintosh HD/Users/my name/Dropbox

I think I would like to move the components from the one in the Dropbox directory (why would an installer put it there?) to the one in the Plug-ins folder. But I don't want to mess things up and have to go through re-installs.

Can I just move the contents of the Dropbox components folder into the other one? Will this cause problems?

    Thanks

  • Hi,

The first one is the standard Components folder.

I think you might have copied that folder to your Dropbox folder by mistake (and I'm sure that software is not being installed in that folder). In my opinion, you can go ahead and delete that Dropbox folder.

    Best,

  • Thanks, Paul. But there are unique files in the folder in Dropbox. For instance my Vienna Imperial component is there but not the regular folder. Can I drag and drop or do I need to reinstall? Thanks Paul

    Hi Paul,

You can drag and drop, if you like, but I'd download and install the latest version from here.

    Paul
