  • Vienna Key Repair

Is there a way I can have my Vienna Key repaired without losing any of the licenses on it?

  • Hello Illuminatus,

In case of a broken key it'd be necessary to send the key to us or, in your case, to Ilio. Please contact us for further conversation under support@vsl.co.at.

    Kind regards, Michael Hula

  • How much is a repair? Also, shall I just mail a check or is there the possibility I can pay with a debit card? I will also need an address to send it to.

  • If a Vienna key broke within the warranty period without external force, you'll get the new ViennaKey and the replacement licenses for free. Warranty is two years, we need to see the invoice for the key purchase if the warranty applies.

If the warranty doesn't apply, you can purchase replacement licenses for EUR 20 per license (minimum fee: EUR 30). We can't finalize such a case via our forum, so please, write an email from your registered email address to support@vsl.co.at

    Best, Michael

  • Just to be clear,

I can buy a new Key and it will only cost 30 Euro per license to transfer everything to the new key? If so, that's perfect.

    Hello Illuminatus,

Well, it's like Michi described it: We have to check the kind of damage (our distributor ILIO will do that for us, in the US), and then we take the next steps.

  • The only real damage is the insert point of the USB drive. It's a little crooked on one side. If I can just take it to a computer store and have it fixed I'll just do that.

I'm guessing that this would void the warranty assuming that the key is still within warranty.  Not a good idea😶

  • I've had the key since 2013, I'm very sure it's outside of the warranty.
