  • Template randomly stops loading kontakt samples

    Hi,

    I loaded up my orchestral tempalte today and I can't get it to load the kontakt samples. I see all my instances of Vienna and kontakt instances. However the samples just freeze. It loaded the first like 3 then froze halfway through one of them.

    I've tried purging and reloading all sampels. I've tried manually playing even though the samples weren't loaded to see if it would jump start it and that was a failure. I have the latest vienna ensemble. Any ideas? I dont want to lose my tempalte I spent weeks creating lol.

    Yes, connected or disconnected does not effect it at all. Usually it loads the samples without my DAW Cubase opened and connected so I can like start up my pc load samples then open Cubase and go to whatever session I'm on. But it just freezes now connected or disconnected.  =(

    Do you have any template backups you can check? Or different versions of Kontakt?

    So I saved each seperate instance as you see in my picture "winds, brass, percussion etc". I then opened a new VEPRO server blank slate and loaded each instance and it worked. So made me think maybe my server template save file is corrupt. No worries I'll just save a new one with the working instances. But problem is no! That didn't work. I load the newly saved vepro server project that previously worked and it froze again?!?!?! 

    Kontakt works fine in cubase, vepro and standalone. Vepro loads just fine if I load each instance seperately as I mentioned before. But loading a server project tempalte freezes.  Any thoughts?

    Could you please send those *.vep and *.vesp files to support@vsl.co.at, we will check if we can find something here. 

    Please include the version numbers (please don't write "latest version") of all included software.

  • Hi everyone !!

    I had the same issue yesterday !

    I was working with VEP 5 5ViennaEnsemblePro-WIN-5.4.14074)

    When I started VEP it suggested me to upgrade to the next version (ViennaEnsemblePro-WIN-5.4.15566)

    I upgraded but In my metaframe I had the same issue Kontakt samples were'nt able to load

    So I upgraded to VEP6 (ViennaEnsemblePro-WIN-6.0.15567) (I had bought it a few month earlier but I had not upgraded yet ) and I had the same issue : Kontakt samples weren't loading !!!

    And today ! It works 

    What I've done is : When I saw that my metaframe didn't load Kontakt samples I didn't save my metaframe or what is now called "Server Project" because as it didn't work I didn't want to save.

    This morning I opened one of my "Server Project" (Kontakt Samples weren't loading) I saved it (even though I saw it wasn't working the way I wanted) then I clicked on exit. I restarted VEP 6, everything works fine Kontakt Samples still don't load but when I click on Reload all Samples now it works !! 

    So you have to reload your samples and resave your Server Project once it's done !!!

    Thank you so much for your solution. Strangely enough it worked and I'm back up and running. Thank you too Paul for helping me. Hopefully this strange bug will be patched up in a future update after more investigation of what really causes this. 

    Not only am I relieved that that your solution fixed the problem, but also that you had the same problem as me. I was thinking it was just my bad luck that only these strange problems happen to me lol.
