  • VSL Soundset Installer

    Hello

Simple question: If I made additions to the playback dictionnary associated with soundset "Vienna Symphonic Library" and then I run the latest Sibelius VSL Soundset Installer, will those changes be lost? If so, what's the best practice method of preserving the changes I made?

    Tks!

    Gilles

  • Hello Gilles!

The VSL Soundset Installer will always install the latest version of the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style and overwrite the old version. If you make changes to the House Style, I recommend saving it under a different name.

  • Tks Andi! That's probably the best approach.

Too bad the Dictionnary isn't a separate, autonomous object that could be combined eoyj different other styles...

  • Hello Gilles!

You can always import the Dictionary only of any House Style. Simply deselect the other options.

  • Wait a minute... If VSL makes a necessary change to the dictionnary (e.g. to support certain instruments) and I import my old dictionnary from a backup (aptly renamed) soundset, then will the import "merge" the two sets of information or simply replace the VSL dictionnary (in which case I will recoup my old settings but loose the new ones of VSL)?

    Tks

    Gil

  • If you import the Dictionary from a House Style, you will loose the previous Dictionary entries.
