    I've searched the forum under the terms 'fast violin lines, fast parts, program fast lines' ,etc and the engine gives me no matches. I'd guess the answer is somewhere here, but...

    Here's a small clip of a fast played run (approx. 9 seconds in). While I know the mix itself is still  short of the bar, the fast run is short of the mix bar. I've yet to get fast runs to sound realistic, and have the kind of bow attack I want. Any advice on pramming, etc., is greatly appreciated. - Shep

    Is noone able to point me in the right direction? I've tried velo differences and note length time variances, but I have yet to fuind that happy, natural sounding place. I'm using a blend of SE Strings I and II.

    My advice is to continously and randomly switch articulations
    (long and short detacheés and staccato, the latter at lower velocity level)

    I thank you for your help. I'll post back when I get it done tomorrow. I have started looking at the Solo Strings and their recorded runs for a solution. That seems like the way to achieve an excellent result, albeit expensive. Thanks again, Fabio.

    I use "perf-legato_fa-slur" patch for smooth fast run and "perf-spiccato-fa" for runs with attack, both patches are found under "PERF INTERVAL FAST" catagory. Both patch are very nice for the fast passages.

    Hi jshep102, 

    You will definitely get good results with the fast legatos and performance trills you get with the bigger FULL Libraries, and of course the pre-recorded runs are also great to have (and can be time-stretched within VI PRO, if you like).

    What Paul suggests is the best thing to do but if that's not currently an option, you could experiment with the Release fader (bringing it down from the default) or turning off release samples.
