    Hi,

    I recently played with Solo Strings 1 using the Vienna Audition Player.  I liked what I heard so decided to make a purchase.  The violin performance legato (pLeg) via the audition player sounds really nice but my pLeg patch does not seem to sound like that of the audition player.  Silly question maybe, but are these really the same?  Can anybody suggest the correct settings in Vienna Instruments to get a good sounding violin?  The audition player has Vel.XF and reverb in bypas so I am trying the same.  I'm new to VI so please give me some slack! ;-)

    I'm not familiar with the Vienna Audition Player so I don't know exactly what you heard but if it sounds like the solo strings 1 demos I would say that it takes some practice and patience to master VSL libraries.  That's why most new users start with the Special Edition packages before leaping head first into the bigger collections.  Not that there's anything wrong with that it's just that new users may find the learning curve a bit steeper.

    Did you purchase Solo Strings 1 Standard or full library?

    Also, you may be hearing some audio sweetening of the sound via plug-ins like Vienna Suite or something.

    Some people on the forum do offer tutorials and you could always see what's available on Youtube.  .

    the sample content is of course identical.
    Maybe the difference you mean is just reverb related?
    The audition player performs by default the MIRX Grosser Konzerthaussaal.

    Hi all,

    Thanks for your feedback.  I bought the standard version of solo strings as thought this would be a good starting point.  I'm getting better and have been doing some online tutorials, which has helped get a better sound.  If anyone knows of any more tutorials I would be interested in hearing about them.
