  • [SOLVED] Can’t save presets – demo mode???

I have the latest versions of Vienna Instruments and Vienna Instruments Pro and am using them as synth plugins in Sonar Platinum.and am using Win 10.  Most of the time I use presets I've made years ago, when I was using the old software with a different interface.  I don't' think I've saved any presets using the newer interface.

If I load a preset or create a new one and then try to save the preset, I can see the curser blinking on the preset name and Backspace works, but none of the letters work when I try to type a name or change the name of a preset. It’s like I’m in the demo mode, but nothing says demo mode unless I’m missing something. After this happened I upgraded to the latest Vienna Instruments. it didn't help. Any suggestions?

  • Hello Gerry,

That´s interesting... Please confirm your exact version number of Vienna Instruments.

I have not heard of such behaviour before.

If this problem did nothing else for you, it got you to upgrade to VI Pro 2. Any temporary hassles from the problem will be far outweighed by how much you will love VI Pro 2.

After not getting any suggestions form this forum, I assumed it was a Sonar problem and it was. After posting there I found out that I have to click on a little keyboard in the top right to give the keystrokes to the plugin. Not sure when this change happened or which program is at fault. I assume it's Sonar not Vienna. Thanks  - all is well

Yes it did, even though it was already installed when I thought I was updating Vienna Instruments a month ago. I did check it out and  is there any reason for me to use Vienna Instruments as a plugn? Shouldn't I always use VI Pro 2? It seems it has all the old features and more. I'd like to see a list of the new features nad enhancments if there is one
