Performance Tool and porta Question

I have two questions on the performance tool 2.1.1 I am currently running Giga 3.o3. This problem has happened on PT 2.0 version with Giga 2.5.
Load any legato instrument. Play a few notes and then depress the release key after the last note played. The release note sounds...great. BUT depress any key again quickly and no sound happens!!! You must wait just a bit, then continue to play. What if I wanted to have a release, then come in quickly to continue playing. When you depress the release key, the next note gets cut!! What am I doing wrong.

Next question..... In perf-lagato mode ...Is there any way Giga people (me) can move the mod wheel to create portamento. Seems the EXS24 can do it. The perf-leg-f-porta sound great, but I want to be able to "throw in" the porta at certain times using the mod wheel. There is no combination for giga in the mappings. I thought this could be done with Giga 3.0?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Mike,

you need to release the Release Trigger Function Key before you play the next note. And if you are VERY fast with your Legato, make sure that Legato Threshold is set to "0".

For GigaStudio3, there are art-files available that will give many more options, making use of the extended features of GS3. Find out more in this thread:

I will download the G3 files. I will check my release time on the PT tool. I do release the key before I play again. However let me try it again with a smaller realese time. I will see if the next note plays right after I hit the release key. Many thanks...... Mike
