  • VEP 6 loading time very long

    Hello,

I update to VEP 6 and to load the program  take a long time 1'15'':

50'' till the logo is shown with"initializing" then still 20'' till the "scanning plugins" and after the rest

then the first time i insert a Vipro it takes 30''

    Why is it so long?

Windows7 with a very good computer with a lot of memory

    Thanks and best regards

     Dup

  • ?Are you on Windows 10?

If so You need to turn off Realtime Protection for Windows Defender each time you reboot the computer (or follow an online guide to permanently disable it). It holds up project loading while scanning the files being loaded into memory.

  • Hi Dup,

Which plug-ins are you loading in the template?

We´re still ironing out a few bugs in VE PRO, it has been re-programmed from scratch, so all information is helpful.

    Thanks,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

     Thanks again,

I just open an empty instance of VEP6 without anything just like before in vep5 " pro server". before it was more faster

  • Perhaps this is the same problem that has made me consider moving my library files to my SSD OS drive! I will check my file read time in VEP Pro v5 as a comparison.

    Hi Paul,

I found the problem!!!  but I can't apply the solution!😔

The problem is the negociation with the elicencer. As owner of allomost all Vsl and have a lot of other product with elicencer, I didn't put all the licences in one elicencer -key! ( I don't want to put all my gold in a some bank!! I'm too afraid)

so I have 11 elicencer-stick  in my music computer: a real christmas tree in the dark.

So if i put only the elicencer with the VEP 6 licence  in my computer, the programm raise in only  5'' : great.

But I need my other licences, so what can you do to improve the time of checking licence or perhaps only one time per a day?

    hope for your answer

    best regards

    Dup

  • Hi Dup,

To be honest, I have not heard of such a strategy, and we are not testing with so many eLicensers added.

The solution I would propose is to keep all licenses on one key and get a new key (with a new 2-year hardware guarantee) every 2 years.

I checked your registered keys, and they all seem to be from 2006 and 2007... maybe it´s time for a new strategy?

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul,

thanks again I will follow your suggestion but last questions:

    - For Switzerland how is the shipping cost from VSl shop?( will i see it at the end of the purchase/s transaction?

-If i buy a key elicencer in a shop near my house do i have also the 2-years warranty?

    - How is the lifetime of one key?

-I teach in a lot of place so I don't want to have all my "gold" in one key if I don't use all the licence, how many elicencers, did you use in one computer to be great?

    Best regards

     again

     Dup

  • Hi Dup,

Yes, you will see the shipping costs in the basket.

2-year warranty is on all eLicenser keys (from the date of purchase, so make sure you keep that receipt).

We see quite some keys from 2002 or 2003 (they have limited capacities), and if you treat your keys well (e.g., transport them in a padded bag, best close to your body) they will last very long.

How many keys, that´s really your decision. You can always stick with your existing system, if the initial startup time with the license check is something you can live with.

    Best,
    Paul
