  • VEP6 with Sibelius 8 and Event Input

    Hello

    Please excuse my broken English

I think the new version a go but I ask questions

Being a VEP5 user with Pro Tools 12 especially Sibelius 8,

can you confirm that the principle remains the same for the event input plugin.

For indeed after what I understand the new version is that it opens multiple instances

    divided into several tabs.

Where as with event input I created a template with a single instance.

Can you confirm the correct implementation an orchestral template with VEP6 and Sibelius 8.

  • Hello Dominique!

The usage of the VE Pro Event Input didn't change between VE Pro 5 and VE Pro 6. You still can connect to one single VE Pro instance with one or more VE Pro Event Inputs. Your old projects will open as they have been saved with VE Pro 5.

  • Hello

I just did the update to VEP6.

As already stated above I use the event input in Sibelius 8

but I would like to create several woodwinds brass strings percussions keyboards.

the interest to create multiple instances for me to separate all instruments

Can I open multiple instances in Sibelius 8 to assign each instrument for events inputs?

My object is to have a complete orchestral template and to provide enable and disable some tracks

and have all the instruments under hand without putting my pc in the red.

this is the main reason for my purchase of VEP 6.

I have only one pc with octocore FX8350 32 gigs of ram and 500gb 2 ssds for banks eastwest

and I soon reach the maximum what it can bear.

With VEP5 I arrived about 24 gigs of ram.

I tried yesterday to test quickly starting from my preceding models

but I have some concerns all tracks do not play or return on all midi one.

And more my master keyboard axiom II 49 does not respond in VEP6.

    is this a bug?

    Best Regards

    Dominique

  • Hello Dominique!

Yes, it is possible to activate multiple instances of the VE Pro Event Input in one Sibelius Playback Configuration.

It's not a bug that your keyboard doesn't reach VE Pro 6. If you have activated VE Pro in Sibelius, make sure that your keyboard shows up in the Sibelius Preferences/Input Devices List and that "Use" is checked. In addition MIDI signals can only reach VE Pro, if the staff that is currently active is routed to VE Pro.

  • hello andy

    Thank you for your reply.

    It's good everything works.

I had the bad idea to try to create from my models with VEP5 on which I had only one instance in Sibelius with all instruments opened with the corresponding event input.

I went yesternight with a blank page and i created an instance woodwinds brass and strings.

I still have to finish for percussions keyboards choirs and ethnic.

Now everything seems to work wonderfully.

I also created ChannelSet that are handy I also set some tracks which I then frizing.

but what does that mean and/or what is operation:

› This feature is also automatable with the Parameter Automation of Vienna Ensemble Pro.

I also set vienna ensemble pro to use a core for instance by having a processor 8 core.

I saw loads of time are especially improved when a second load that it did not exist for me

with the VEP5 version and play with eastwest player 4.

The times were extremely long.I do not know if this is because of load many samplesin each open vst.

I have now each instrument with all separated articulations.

It only remains for me for me to find the right configuration for my ssds to become even more loading time.

The raid 0 software under 5 Play does not seem to improve things.

Do VEP6 can enjoy the software RAID 0?

VEP6 coupled to Play 5 gives us a much more environment stable and reactive.

Bravo and Thank you for this superb work that shows you constantly try to improve your software.

  • Hi Dominique!

I'm not sure what you are exactly quoting in your last message, so I can't say to which feature it refers.

I'm not a specialist as far as RAID systems are concerned, but I guess it has nothing to do with VE Pro. If your system works with RAID 0, I can see no reason why VE Pro shouldn't work with it.

    Best,
    Andi
