  • Demo-ing Original Vienna Suite, Plugins Not Showing In VE Pro Preferences

I just installed the demo of the original Vienna Suite, but the plugins are not showing among available Plugins in VE Pro Preferences.

I've run the VSL Directory Manager and checked that the path to the VST DLL folders containing the Vienna Suite plugins. All looks good there to me, but clearly something is amiss.

Any ideas? I'm sure it's something simple I'm missing.

  • Hi,

So you´re on Windows. Did you check that the VS PRO plug-ins were installed in the correct VST plug-in folder? If not, you can either

    A) Find the VST Plug-in folder you installed the plug-ins in and it it in the VE PRO Preferences

    B) Find the VST PLug-in folder you are using now and install VS Pro once again to that folder.

  • Paul,

To clarify, I am demo-ing the original Vienna Suite, not the new Pro version, although I was given a trial license that includes both. I only installed the original.

I had already done as you suggest. I did not change the defaults for installation. The C:Program Files/Common Files/VST3 folder contains the appropriate plugins, and the path was already present in the VE Pro VST settings, but just to be sure I rebooted my computer and rescanned all folders, still didn't show up.

Curiously, I selected both VST3 and VST2 installations, but no Vienna Suite DLL's show in my VST2 folder. I do not currently use VST2 options, so I have no VSL DLLs at all show in the VST2 folder. I wonder if somehow that's the source of the problem, because now that I notice it the plugins that do show up in VE Pro are the non-VSL ones in my VST2 folder.

To be clear, in VE Pro Preferences in the VST settings I have both VST2 and VST3 folders being scanned. It's just that the VST2 one has no VSL DLLs.

  • I think this is easily solved. VEP doesn't use VST3 plugs. Only VST2. So you'll need to use the VST2 version of Vienna Suite.

  • Ah, I'll work that angle.

    Thanks, DG, as always.

I hope you know how much people like me appreciate the generous help people like you give on these forums, and of course we also appreciate the patient help the VSL people give too.
