  • ProTools 10, installing Ensemble Pro: what am I doing wrong??

    iMAC late 2013, OS X 10.8.5, Digi 003, Protools 10.3.7.296

Vienna Suite, Ensemble Pro 5, Solo Strings 1 and 11

    Hi forum

Trying to install Ensemble Pro and it drives me crazy. I know how to operate ProTools, but all I ever do is recording audio.

I started PT and Ensemble, created an Instrument track, inserted Ensemble as a Multichannel plugin.  Connected via '127.....', created two midi tracks, assigned them to channel-1 and channel-2.

Than I created an AUX input stereo track, and assigned the input to 'plugin - Vienna Ensemble Pro RTAS - inst 1 - Insert a. But when I go back to the PT Instrument track I can't choose Ensemble at 'I/O'. The name appears, but it's greyed out.

I've downloaded and eLicensed Ensemble pro and both Solo Strings correctly, I'm (99 %) sure.

Your help can make this day sunny again.

  • Hi Dylan,

Please send me some screenshots to support@vsl.co.at, I´ll take a look.
If I understand correctly, you want to record some MIDI tracks with the Solo Strings in VE PRO.

Not sure why you´d insert an AUX channel there... thanks for more details.

    Best,
    Paul

  • Hi Paul

    Thanks for your reply.

The AUX: the installation manual (the part about Protools) wanted me to create it.

Meanwhile I managed to get sounds from Ensemble after all. So I opened 4  midi tracks in PT, played a few notes on each track and that worked.

I'll have the screenshots made wednesday, when I'm in my studio which is in another city.

    Best regards

    Dylan

  • Hi forum

VE Pro, Solo Strings 1 and Epic Orchestra are running, at last. Thanks to Marnix and Paul.

I'm having a great time exploring it.
