  • How to Control 3rd party plugins in Ve Pro 5 with USB Controller?

I've been using Nano Kontrol 2 knobs to control compressor (threshold, makeup, attack, release) and EQ plugs in Logic Pro X.

In Ve Pro 5, i could not find a way to make it work. I could only control CC 1 and CC11 with Kontakt.

Is there a way to configure it to work in Ve Pro 5?

  • VE Pro 5 has automation mapping, including MIDI controllers, so whatever the plugins expose to a host shows up in that menu and we control it from the DAW host. VE Pro itself will see controllers, but last I heard VSL calls this an experimental feature and it may simply not work in your case.

  • Thanks civilization 4 for your reply. I do hope they will implement this feature soon. Its pretty useful to control plugins with knobs rather than using the mouse all the time.

Cheers and have a pleasant day

No, what I mean is, control of VE Pro in its interface, say you have your controller installed on a slave and want to interact with it on that side, it can sometimes work, but then it might not. But through the sequencing host you're sending MIDI to it and no problem. You have to set it up, assign it. see image self-explanatory except that 'Macro 10' = CC9 (absynth's default) is not evident, "Macro Control 10" became "Channel Vol: CC9" after assigning. But that Control Value at the bottom _is_ responding to CC9.

image 2 Here I assigned CC2 to control low gain on this EQ. There is no problem, just that it happens through the seq. host.

Thank you so much for the info. I tried it and it worked.

Unfortunately, it response to Midi Ch 1 only. Once i have another instruments on Midi Ch 2 and so on, it does not work.

Thanks again for putting time to find this out.

    Cheers & God Bless

  • That's probably down to your controller, it should work across the board.
