  • Selecting multiple instruments and moving them in MIR PRO.

I wish there was a way to move multiple instruments at once by selecting them in MIR PRO. When I change venue, I need to move all my instruments forward a bit.

  • .... and ta-daaaah! :-) Here it is: Just select all Icons you want to move together and keep ALT pressed while you push them to their new position.

This "Selection Group" behaviour can be used for pretty much all Icon-specific features of MIR Pro. If you want this to be the default way to work with groups, make sure to select the option "Automatically edit selected channels as a group" in the Preferences, then you don't have to press ALT. Selection Groups can be saved and recalled from the right-click context menu.

  • Awesome! Thank you Dietz!

  • Hello Dietz,

I'm on a finel stage of my syphonic project and would like to clear up something. In a VE Pro 5 Mixer with all instruments/tracks I should select  WIR Pro for each track. Right? Or I need to convert all MIDI instruments to Audio files first and after send  audio tracks to MIR?

  • Both approaches are possible, but it's much more convenient to stay within VE Pro.

As long as you don't have good reasons there's no need to convert your Vienna Instruments to audio. Quite contrary: MIR Pro can "communicate" with the Vienna Instrument on the channels it is instantiated in, allowing for several nifty features (like automatic Instrument Profile guessing and so on) which aren't available when working with audio streams.

  • Tanks Dietz,

Can I leave VS effects on a tracks to make them sound rich  or they sould be 100% dry?

  • Do you mean VST effects? Well - that's a matter of taste, and it depends a lot on what you're after. Personally, I use EQs, filters, compressors and even saturation effects on instruments I send into MIR (or I get out of it). On the other hand, modulation, echoes and reverb are rarely used in addition to MIR when I aim for a "natural" sound.

    Kind regards,

  • I mean VSuite EQ, Compressor, Exiter and so on. As I understand, there isn't need to use VSL Poverpan. And also, is it possible to know your opinion about my strings arrangement by sending an axtract to you? If yes, how. I'v never done it. Sorry.
