  • VSL Sibelius House Style and Sibelius 8

The VSL Sibelius House Style seems to nolonger have the rright fonts for Sibelius 8. If I apply the VSL house style, save and re-open then Sibelius 8 complains about the missing fonts.

I dont know enough to change the VSL House Style. Is there an update - (can't find one) or can someone give me a clue.

    Many thanks.

  • Hello Malcolm!

I think that this message is about a text type that has been renamed in Sibelius 8. As far as I can see this message doesn't have any relevance. Anyway, please let me know which fonts are missing and I will look into it.

    Best regards,
    Andi

  • Thanks for quick response.

Here is a screen shot - I have started finding substitues shown in the middle column but gave up after a while. I hoped there might be an update VSL House Style?

  • The missing fonts from your list are not asked for from the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style for Sibelius 8. I guess this problem comes up in a project that has been started with an earlier Sibelius version, right? Sibelius has renamed their Opus fonts at one point and added " Std". I think you will have to reassign the missing fonts for this particular project.

  • I have tested this again and can replicate the problem with a new score.

Create a score using a standard manuscript, add a note or two. Save, reload - all is fine.

Import the VSL libraray all looks ok. Save and reload and up comes that same same screen.

I then reloaded the VSL SoundSet app made sure the lbrary was in the right place and tried again.

Same as before.  Will try on my Mac tonight - this is all windows.

  • Hello Malcolm!

I can't reproduce this problem here. Maybe there's an old version of the "Vienna Symphonic Library" House Style somewhere on your computer that gets loaded instead of the current version. I would try the following procedure.
    - Search on your system hard drive for files called "Vienna Symphonic Library.lib".
    - Delete all files that can be found with this name.
    - Run the latest version of the VSL Soundset Installer.

    I hope this helps.
