  • Sibelius 7.5 Sound error

When I make large scores on Sibelius 7.5, with around 30 or more parts, some of the parts don't have the right playback sound, for example: One of my large scores has 37, what was supposed to be the CHIMES sound was the VIBRAPHONE sound. And the only way I could find how to fix this, was to add another CHIMES part into the score.

Later on, I decided to write a new song with fewer parts, the CHIMES part sounded like the VIBRAPHONE, the BELLS sounded like the VIBRAPHONE up an octave, the OBOE, BASSOON, and the PICCOLO all sounded like the FLUTE in different octaves. I had to add another VIBRAPHONE, XYLOPHONE, BELLS, OBOE, BASSOON, and PICCOLO part to make the playback sound right. But then the BARITONE TREBLE CLEF and BARITONE BASS CLEF both sounded like the F HORN in different octaves. So I added both BARITONE PARTS, and it did nothing. So I was messing around with the instrumentation, and I had to delete the PIANO part for the BARITONEs to sound like themselves.

*Now I just noticed all the TRUMPET parts sound like F HORNs as well, but not if I delete the PIANO.

Is there any way I can fix this error without adding more parts? And why would it be doing this?

System: Acer, windows 7, 64-bit System, if you need more info, tell me.

  • Hello TatorSaxGuy!

I couldn't find any registered products under your account. Anyway, the first place to find a solution for your problem would be the Troubleshooting section of the "Optimizing Sibelius Playback" manual.
