  • Install only standard library

I'm installing my Vienna libraries on SSDs, and so far the standard libraries are sufficient for me. Is it possible to uninstall the parts of the libraries that I'm not using (i.e., the extended library), so I can put other things on the SSD? Or could I move parts of the library to an HDD on the same system, where the software can still find it?

Considering the difference in sample size, I think the amount of space saved would be very significant. It's not really an issue in my studio, but when I'm travling it's nice to have the same libraries on my laptop, which only has 2 SATA connections.

Alternatively I could carry an external USB 3.0 SSD--will that perform well enough for peripheral libraries like percussion and solo strings? I would only be using a few instruments at a time, since it's not really possible to render a large score on a small laptop screen.

  • Hello,

Our big VI Collections are always installed as Full Library, there´s no way to add only the Standard Library, as all the sample content has been crypted.

USB 3.0 SSD is the way to go when you´re on the road.

    Best,
