Upgrade options from vienna SE to solo strings vol 1
Hello I am sorry if this is repeated question.... Is there an upgrade option from SE strings volume 1 and 2 to the solo strings library? I see that many of the articulations in solo strings are already in the SE vol1 and vol2 so I didn't want to pay twice. I am yet to buy the special edition and wanted to check before, to decide if I should go for solo strings straight or use the special edition first if there is an upgrade. Any feedback appreciated. Also if I should be asking this in another forum please let me know. Thanks much! Anand

You get more velocity layers in most Standard Library patches. And a difference is that the patches in the SE are sampled at whole tone steps, while standard/full libraries are sampled at half tone steps. If you buy the SE products you get a discount on relevant standard/full libraries, meaning you can upgrade later on without having wasted the money on SE.

Thank you. This is very useful. I was actually wondering if the SE patches are sampled with the same density as the solo strings and its good to know that they are not.
It would have been nicer if VS explicitly stated so in their product pages.
Is there any way to know how much of a discount I will get going from SE strings vol 1 to solo strings 1?
Thanks again.

Hi Agitato,
Thanks for your interest in our string libraries! You can easily see which upgrade discounts you'd qualify for with a given product with a trick: First make sure that you're logged in and put the product you'd like to upgrade FROM into your basket - in your case, the Special Edition Vol. 1 Strings. Now that the product is in your basket our web shop will assume for additional products that you already registered this product. Next click on 'Continue Shopping', and go to the the product web page that you'd like to upgrade TO at a later time, in this case, Solo Strings I.
On the left side you'll see the list price as well as 'Your Price' which includes your upgrade discount which in this case is EUR 28 for both the Standard Libary and the Full Library. More general information on our upgrade paths is available here.
Hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any further questions.Best,
Stefan

FYI I just got the solo strings I library and checking it out with Sibelius.
It simply rocks!!
Thank you for doing an amazing job not only with the samples but with the sibelius soundset, I just love watching how the ensemble is doing so much in the background interpreting my notation, just like what software should really be doing !
Just AWESOME.
thanks
