    The following questions pertain to MIR and MIRacle used as a plug-in in Digital Performer 8.07:

     1. Let's say I want to use MIRacle in aux/send mode (like a standard reverb) in a session that also uses MIR. Since it's impossible to separately bus MIR's dry and wet signals within DP (as you can in VEP), would I mute the "DRY" fader in the MIRacle instance's plug-in interface, and would this be a satisfactory way to work with MIRacle?

     2. There appear to be no dedicated aux/send-style factory presets in MIRacle. In the above situation (using MIR in DP), if I want to work in aux/send mode, would I choose an appropriate "Enhance" or "Hybrid" preset, follow the instructions for changing MIR's REV TIME and DRY/WET OFFSET, and mute the DRY fader within the MIRacle plug-in interface? I ask because those presets say there were designed as Master Bus inserts—are those presets nevertheless good starting points for aux/send work, and if not, what would you suggest?

     3. Re Tutorials 13 and 14 in the MIR Pro manual ("Using MIRacle and MIR Pro as Hybrid Reverb 1 & 2")—am I correct that this is basically impossible in DP, since you can't separately bus the wet and dry MIR signals?

    Hi Peter, sorry for the slightly delayed reply. After a couple of quite demanding music productions I'm on a vacation right now, and I'm writing these lines on my smartphone on the beach. ;-) MIRacle is indeed mainly meant to be used within VE Pro. This has several reasons: First of all (and just like you wrote), there's no way to have separate dry/wet signal paths from MIR Pro in any other host than VE Pro, simply because the common plug-in formats don't allow for it. Second: I expect that everybody who uses a modern DAW for audio production has at least one or two usable "conventional" algorithmic reverbs, that's why I never thought about doing "ordinary" AUX-send presets for MIRacle, but as a matter of fact, most of the existing presets should fit these needs perfectly. So - bottom line: When the description of a MIRacld preset says "Master Insert FX", then the only reason for it is that I designed the preset with this task in mind, but it won't hurt to try it for different setups, too! Chances are that you will achieve great results with just a few changes (e.g. using MIRacle as a 100%-wet AUX-effect). HTH,

    Wow, not sure whether to feel guilty or just jealous that you answered my post from a beach! :-)  Thanks in any case. MIRacle seems to work great as a master bus insert (or, more accurately, as an insert on multiple audio stems) in DP, but good to know I can use it in aux/send mode as needed.

    I have one more question about Tutorial 14 ("Using MIRacle and MIR Pro as Hybrid Reverb 2") but it's not at all urgent—I'll post it in a week or so.
