  • moving libraries to new computer

I am currently using a PC with 8G Ram and 1T HD, and I am going to be adding a new computer with 32G, SSD disks.

Some of the libraries now on the old machine will have  to migrate to the new one. Do I have to reinstall the whole library from scratch on the new machine, de-authorize and re-authorize the sounds? Or can I just connect a USB cable to each computer and copy the sounds directly? Also, will this work between a PC and a Mac?

    Thanks!

  • Just copy the libraries. You want a network cable, not a USB. The authorization is on the eLicencer; just move that to the new machine.

    Hi,

Also, please open the Directory Manager (find it in "Applications" (OS X) or "All Programs" (Win) => then "Vienna Instruments") - then add all sample content again by drag and drop from your Finder/Explorer.

More information about how the Directory Manager works can be found in the video "How to use the Directory Manager":

Thanks. But don't I have to buy a new, 2nd elicenser, because I'm still using the old machine as a slave, and leaving SOME of the libraries there?

  • You need a dongle for all computers that are running samples.
