  • Vienna instrument patchs 'room sound' issue

    Hello every one

I have a question about VSL Special Edition sounds.

Example The Clarinet or Basson; when i play the different articulations for this instruments like (legato > staccato) or (legato > Fast repetition) the sound colors will change when i switch. In the clarinet staccato is a littlebit Room recording sound but not in the legato to much, Basson is the same. So when i switch between the  articulations i hear the room sound in the Staccato Samples. I use VSL Instruments Pro in Logic X. All the reverbs pluggin are Bypass in the Instrument Pro and Logic X. Is there a settings for this issue. Because it isn't realistic when it playing.

Sorry for my bat English, i hope you understand :))

Hello and welcome in "the family" here at VSL

Sorry that nobody gave an answer to your question. It is because there is not really one. All the sounds where recorded at the silence stage /picture1 / picture 2 of the house.

As you can see the room is not quit "silence" but without a lot reverb and ERs. In case of recording staccatos you need to take the sample until the sound has completely past away for getting a natural feeling. Of course you can't recognize this same little reverb with other articulations in the same way.

A lot of articulations do have such a "fading-out-sound". It is the release of an articulation. It will be triggered when you stop pressing the key of the keyboard. If you don't want those "Release Sounds" (little reverbs so to say) you need to remove the hook at "Release" on the basic site of VIPro or VI.

Unfortunately the staccatos do not have such a release sample, it is built in - so you can not remove it.

But don't be sad. If you are using just a little reverb these small differences between articulations will disappear. Take into account that other libraries come with a lot more and bigger differences - also within the same articulation.

    Happy Music!
