I was thinking about buying Orchestral Strings 2. But I cannot find muted basses in the Sample Content. Is this true, no muted basses? Why?

Hello Andreas,
The muted sections of the Orchestral Strings are quite basic in general, and we had to decide to omit these articulations for the Basses, back then.
Instead, we went ahead and created much more complete collections of muted string ensembles for Solo Strings, Chamber Strings and Appassionata Strings, which are available separately.
Best,
Paul
Andreas, I have no idea of your experience, so I apologise if I'm telling you something you already know, but muted double basses cause a strange acoustic phenomenon. They actually sound louder....! There are technical reasons for this, but what I tend to do is mark them at least one dynamic lower than the rest of the Strings, and leave them un-muted.

Thank you for the information! But I hope that the Orchestral Strings will complete in the future with more muted sounds.

Thank you, it's true that the basses have to play in some registers a little bit softer for a homogeneous muted sound, but often I prefer a muted bass sound compared with a unmuted sound.
