  • A dream come true!

VSL just arrived this instance.... I have wanted VSL pro since I first heard about it 1½ year ago... and now its in my hands.

    Beautiful! and big! [:D]

This day will be remembered... Thanks VSL for making such kick-ass products that make me coming back for more! Whenever you release something I have this nasty urge to by it instantly!

    Cheers to great quality

  • :-] Enjoy!

And let us her some great music, someday!

    All the best,

  • Ive started digging through the material - Its simply amazing. The sounds are fantastic, and the amount of data completely unbeleivable!

I think awe is the best way to decribe what i'm feeling [:D]

Now i'm just waiting for my bagpipes and choir hehehe...

btw - I REALLY like the sound quality of the strings (still not too happy about legato) but even the "basic" stuff blows the others out of the water. I loaded up the Strings_Sus patch, turned on a grand hall in GigaPulse and hit a chord - cant get much more hollywood than that [:)]

I know i'm just ranting on here and praising yoyr stuff, but I'm really impressed. I can easily see VSL being my no. 1 choice for most situations, inspite of owning just about everything else.

    Bravo

Edit: I have a few questions...

    - Why are there so relatively few crossfade pacthes?
    - The ones there are which crossfade from pp-mf and another from mf-f... I suspect that was due to the limits of GS2... Will that be fixed?
    - The varrious _All patches. Are they limited in any way i.e velocity layers, non-chromatic etc? Or might I aswell select an All patch rather than 4 seperate patches including the sam ething? Are larger _All instruments planned?

  • Good to see you come aboard. I have many other libraries but I would give everyone of them away before Pro Ed [:D]

  • Thanks Rob...

  • Christian,
With the xmas offer for Opus 1 users I was thinking about making the leap myself but I was wondering about system wise stuff like ram and harddrives that you are using. I have a dual 1.8 G5 with 2 gig's of ram and a dedicated SATA raptor drive (80 gigs) for my VSL libraries. I know that the drive end will have to change, maybe a larger SATA or starting an array with more of the same drives. Is 2 gigs of ram close?

    Thanks,
    Chris

(hope your having fun with your new sounds!)

  • Hi Chris

I have four machines, P4 3.0ghz with 2 GB ram each. And let say it as it is - I could easily use another two computers. However this is largelly due to the fact that I prefere having templates with a full orchestra right in front of me when I load my computers, and not having to worry about loading every single instrument.

So, if one choses his articulations on a need-to-use basis then you can do much more. So to answer your question 2 GB ram isent even close if your a template hungry bastard like myself, but pretty good if you use it more effectively than I do [[:)]]

As you know from Opus1 the Perf instruments eat ram! [[:)]]

  • Wow, forgot about using my P4! (3.0, 2 gigs) with the G5. Would it be using Giga studio? I'm not to familiar with it, there are different versions out of it. Any suggestions? I could just get some larger drives for both. Ummmmm. There is always away.

    Thanks again,
    Chris
