I am noticing an ususual feature of the Bb clarinet patch, for all the sustained choices. In the range of Eb above middle C up to F#, when I sustain a tone it seems to grow in volume, as if it had a built-in crescendo.
This happens both in Logic and in the Standalone Vienna Instruments. I’m using the special edition.
The patches affected are sus; legato (actually pleg); legato sus (ples).
Is there a way to defeat this behavior? I tried adjusting the velocity curve but I don’t think that’s the right approach.
It happens whether I use a hard or soft velocity.
In addition to being audible, it’s visible on the horizontal guage at the upper right corner of the Vienna GUI.
I downloaded the Vienna Library within the last couple of weeks.
