  • VIP Remote App feature request

    Hi,

Would it be possible to add an option to activate an instance with an on/off button instead of the A/B drag-up gesture? In a rich arrangement it's very annoying to have to slide the finger all the time to find the instrument you're working on; single-tapping would be much faster IMHO. BTW the gesture doesn't seem to work at all when using the app in a desktop browser (Safari) with a mouse (although resizing does).

Even better, make the "instance activation" customiseable with a CC so that you could assign e.g. CC3 to a pad or button on your (physical) MIDI controller and just tap it to instantly find the instrument you need (without needing to play a note). This CC wouldn't need to be recorded in the arrangement and therefore would allow playback of multiple tracks without VIP getting confused.

On a side note, on my iPad, when I tap a cell in a row other than the first one, the cell on the first row gets selected instead. Only then can I tap (again) the proper cell below in order to select it. In order words, if the top-left cell is (X0, Y0), when tap e.g. (X3, Y3) I get (X3, Y0). Then I need to tap the same cell again to enable it. Whether the cell is enabled or not doesn't make a difference (although if it's disabled, the first tap *does* enable it, just before selecting the first-row cell).

    Thanks.

  • Also, it seems that the web app deactivates four-finger-swipe app-switching. Any way to get around that, as it's a problem when using the app together with another remote app on the iPad (Lemur, for instance).

    Thanks.

  • Almost a year since I posted these two feature requests. Any feedback please, VSL? A button for MIDI-note activation and a "switch to last app" maybe (see above for details)? Juggling between Lemur and the VI Remote app is very frustrating.

    Thanks.
