  • VE Pro won't load

Today (Feb 28) my computer updated itself to the latest Windows 7 updates.

Now VE Pro will not load its splash screen.  The process runs, and i can kill it with Task manager. But the Splash screen never appears and Sibelius 7.5 does not see VE Pro at all.

I have downloaded the latest update for VE Pro, and I have rebooted the computer at least 10 times now to try to find out whyVE Pro won't start. I have even done a system restore to the time befopre last nights Windows update but to no avail.

    Yesterday everything was working perfectly.

Can someone please help.  I desperately need to finish a project in Sibelius but I need to hear the sound so that I can create a sound export.

  • It's worth adding that if I try to load VE Pro twice then the process appears twice in Task manager.  Both are easy to kill, but I cannot get the program to produce a splash screen or a program window, and Sibelius can't see that it is running.

  • Hi Derek,

Having the same problem here with Windows 8 using Ableton. Did you ever get this to work? If so, how? Hope all is well.

Is it something just within the project or VEP won't load no matter what.

Have you tried reverting the machine back to before the updates were installed?

I know everybody has different set ups, and different needs, and I'm sympathetic to that but this is the very reason I'm still one of the only few who refuses to keep my music computer online.

If everything is working fine and your workflow isn't affected don't fix something that's not broken.  I don't even update VSL unless I need to install a new product or it affects my workflow.

Anyway, I hope your problem is resolved quickly😊

  • I finally got round the problem by doing a system backup to a point where VE Pro was working properly.
After that the update renewed itself and all was well.  Since then I moved to Windows 10 in July and the problem has never reappeared.
