  • moving sounds back in the mix

Can somebody explain how to move sampled instruments to the back of the stage when mixing? Is it just a matter of reverb and reducing the volume? What kind of reverb differences should I apply? Should I include a plate to simulate the back wall? Should the back-of-stage instruments be put into a bigger or smaller simulated room?

Also, are there standard prescriptions for applying EQ to simulate the muffling due to musicians at the front, or is this unimportant in practice?

    Nothing I do sounds right.
