  • SE vol1 - how do I know what patches are in vol1 and what are demos?

When I browse patches, matrices and presets it looks like I have all the SE content available.

But if I select e.g. an Appasionata patch I lose a demo instance (as shown in the eLicenser).

When browsing patches, matrices and presets how do I know what content is in my license and what is "demo" content?

What am I missing - where are the marks for e.g. this is vol1, that is in vol2plus etc etc?

    Hello Origo,

I checked your registrations, and you have registered the Special Edition Volume 1 in 2009.

Back then, our products came on DVD´s and the Volume 2 (which was called "Extended Library" back then) was installed as well, so that you can check it our for free with the demo license on your ViennaKey.

Here is an overview of all instruments in the Special Editions.

The various product pages provide you with more information.

To get permanent access to all instruments you can see, you can get a permanent license for Special Edition Volume 2 anytime.

    Best,
    Paul

Hi, thanks for the info. But I still have the same question: how do I know which patches are part of Vol1 and which are 1plus, 2, 2plus etc.?

Do I have to cross reference with an online list or PDF while building my template so I don't use any demo/unlicensed instances?

Is there no way to tell in the patch list what is vol1 - or any warning of amny kind in the interface?

  • Hello Origo,

I´m afraid there is no "warning", you´ll have to refer to the instrument list. Your product package also contains that list, IIRC.

  • Thanks.

Just out of interest - is this a quirk of having such an old license or does everyone with a demo license have the same thing, with different articulations from different editions mixed in lists without an indication of whether you "own" them or not?

  • Hello Origo,

This has to do with change in structure that happened with the Special Editions (from Standard/Extended Libraries to multiple "Volumes", "Sections" and "Bundles" with more choice).

It´s rather unusual that one of our products is not used for 6 years - the demo starts would have expired very soon.

    Sorry about the confusion!

    Makes sense, thanks.

I am trying to work out whether I need the plus packs or other volumes. Can I get a demo license for SE Complete?

    Hello Origo,

You can test-drive all Special Editions at www.try-sound.com, with some latency but you get an idea there.

    Best,
    Paul

Thanks for the info but I do not see SE vol 3 and 4 on the test list there?
