  • Playing style

will styles other than classical/film music be represented? In terms of tone, articulation, scales, etc.
I would be very interested in things of this nature. eg jazz clarinet virbrato (do this one and I will marry you), burlesque trombone slur,
fast blues scale octave run, etc.

  • Hi JP!

the stylistics of samples is of course massively influenced by the player.
the concept of our library (in this first stage) is basically symphonically oriented, we have chosen our players considering this decision.

the orchestral musicians in Europe probably don´t have the "crossover"-education they have in the US, which is why we don´t insist on playing techniques the players don´t really know.

as we´re recording alternative solo-instruments, the alternative players will of course be selected in a way that ensures, that the Vienna Symphonic Library covers a wider stylistic spectrum, which of course includes modern playing techniques as well as jazz-elements.

    all the best, Paul
