  • Missing Samples

Hi Chaps, I’m running VE Pro 5 with Logic Pro X on Yosemite Version 10.10.1, till now, without any problems.

Today I booted up as usual to find that Vienna Instruments are not accessible and are showing red instead of blue. They seem to have lost their way.

Does anyone have any ideas what’s happened and how to fix it.

    Hi Robert,

Please open the Directory Manager (find it in "Applications" (OS X) or "All Programs" (Win) => then "Vienna Instruments").
Remove all folders - then add all sample content again by drag and drop from your Finder/Explorer.

More information about how the Directory Manager works can be found in the video "How to use the Directory Manager".

    Best,

  • Paul, it is not normal you are loosing instruments.

With what you propose to do you will not recover lost instrumets

I had quite the same issue but the library was not missing any instrument ; instuments had damadged files.

I had quite a few crashes, messages from eLC saying I had instruments that was not autorized !!!!!!

I hope that eLC will fix this message saying which instrument is damadged ;)))))))))))  that will save a lot of time in debugging the problem.

The only solution was to erase all my libs and copy them back from a backup

I did that last week end, now how can I find out if my backup has all the upgrades ?

VSL you do need a Software and Instruments update central program that could determine what is not updated, like the one of Native Instruments or like the one from Apple

    Thanks in advance

    Best

  • Thanks Paul. As a matter of interest, have you any idea why this happens.

  • Hi Robert,

This happens mostly if folder names or harddrives are renamed or get a different drive name.

@Cyril: You can always run the latest Library Updates, they will not do any harm.
