Integrating SE Vol.1, Finale 2012c and Cubase 8

Hello,
I am a "hobbyist" and compose music not exclusively but primarily in the style of the "Classical" era. I compose in standard notation and have very little knowledge of music production(?),...Audio Engineering(?),...I'm not even sure what it's formally called that I am trying to accomplish.
My goal(s):
1.) To bring to life the scores I compose.
2.) And to do so without having to play a keyboard or any instrument,....that is, that I find a way to use the tools I have to bring to life scores I have produced using the mouse to enter the notation.
My tools:
1.) SE Vol. 1(Strings, Woodwinds, Brass, Percussion), and the Vienna horn Standard Library.
2.) Finale 2012c
3.) Cubase 8
4.) Native Instruments Komplete 9(not sure it's relevant here though).
5.) 32GB RAM, i7, Windows 8.1 64 bit

So given my goals and tools, can anyone please give me advice/ideas on a course of action. Like is it better to get the files into Cubase?,...if so at what stage,..audio files?,...midi files?
Also, is Sibelius(latest version) better "equiped" for my purpose than Finale including Finale 2014?

Probably best to compose the complete piece in Finale, using the SE instruments. Then export in MusicXML from Finale and import that into Cubase. There you can add the nuances that are difficult (but not impossible) to achieve in Finale. Of course, you'll need to setup the SE instruments again Cubase and assign them to the proper tracks.

I'm gonna give it a shot here right away,....it'll give me an oportunity to begin using DAWs which is also new to me. Hey,..Cubase 8 comes with a 1337 page operation manual,...with that amount of help what could possibly go wrong!  :)

Hi Bryan,

 

    Do not forget to seacrh for youtube videos; there are also nice tutorials by steinberg, in regards to how to insert  midi data (CC) expresion, volume whatever, automation and many other things.. manual is ok, but takes some time to notice what you are after...
