  • In that case a DP user must chime in - I myself as a Cubase user can't really help you further....

  • Hello belkina,

Please send some screenshots to support@vsl.co.at, so that we can take a look!

  • Not sure what to send a screenshot of.  THe Vienna Instrument and Ensmble windows look normal, and so does DP.

    ???

  • Hi,

Well, we also take screenshots of "normal" behaviour. And then it would be interesting to see what is not normal.
You could include a screenshot of /Library/Audio/Plug-ins/Components, to see if the AU Component is installed and available.

You said:  "I've tried pointing it at the folder with the sounds, and also the folder with the software in the Audio Plugins prefs for DP, but still no luck."

Not sure what you mean by that. Screenshots will help.

    Paul

  • I'll send in a screen shot of the window where DP lists and finds new plugins so you can see what I mean. There are no Audio Units, because I am on a Windows PC.

  • Here is the DP screen shot. The window we are interested in is on the top left. On the top R side of that window is a list of plugins which DO work properly in DP. Below you will see a place where the user can add them manually. For example only when I added the Kontakt one manually did it work properly. As you can see, I tried to add both the folder where the VSL software lies and also the one where the sound libraries are. But DP still does not recognize VSL, as you can see from its absence in the upper list.

I'm on a PC with Windows 7, and 64 bit.

Thank you in advance, Paul. :-)

  • Hi,

I didn´t know that you were using a Windows-system with DP, sorry.
With every post, you can "Attach files to this post", in "OPTIONS" right under the text field.

You can of course also send your screenshots to support@vsl.co.at

On a PC, it´s important that the *.dll files are installed in VST Plug-in folders and that these folders are assigned correctly in the Preferences of the given host (in this case DP).

    Paul

  • Ah, and now I see the screenshot, thanks.

Did you check that the Vienna Instruments and Vienna Ensemble *.dll files are available in the assigned VST Plug-in folders?

    Paul

  • Can you tell me where to find the .dll files? And when you say assigned VST plugin folders, which folder do you mean, the one with the software? If so, I already tried that.  :-(

  • Hi,

You can find the *.dll Files where you decided to install them (you are being asked when you are installing your plug-ins). You can always install the software again, just to check these paths.

The paths are displayed in your screenshots as well, under "Additional VST Plug-in Folders". It´s usually not the program folders.
