    Hi all

first of all ... Merry Christmas to VSL and to all 😊

I have SE Strings 1 and SE Strings 1 Plus  + Strings 2 SE and  Appassionata Strings I extended library.
Let me know if I can get a similar formation of strings (of course not equal) to that obtained with the  Vienna Dimension Strings.  For example: different rows of players, each with different Patch and with different values of equalization etc...  (I know that in this way I should use different midi channels for each row of players ...  correct?)

    Thank You

    Lucio

    Hi Lucio,

    Merry Christmas!

I think these videos will help you best to understand the possibilities of Dimension Strings.

    Best,
    Paul

EDIT: I obviously misinterpreted the question, sorry about that. Thanks, Casiquire, for chiming in here.

  • Dimension Strings can't be simulated with other libraries currently on the market, including VSL's libraries.  On the other side of that, the reverse is likely to be true as well.  The big problem with trying to duplicate the effect of DS is that if you have different libraries in different rows, for example Solo Strings on one row and Chamber Strings on another, the effect you'll hear will be a single player in one row and a few players in another row.  The ensemble sizes will always differ.  You can probably get away with this in a mockup, but it won't exactly specifically duplicate the sound of Dimension Strings.

Thanks for your help ....... I'll think about .... € 595 for Standard Library ... is a lot of money .. but the product is excellent ... for now I'll wait a little longer ...

    bye
