  • Dumb PC Question...

Hey guys, please don't laugh, as I'm primarily a Mac user who has PC just to run Giga for VSL.

I'd like to copy some patches like the VLNS LEG 14 so I can load two instances of the patch, naming the second one something else, but....and don't laugh now....how do you make a copy of the patch on a PC? I've gone to "MY COMPUTER" and found the file itself, but can't find a menu command to COPY the patch. On the Mac I would just hold the option key and drag to make a copy.

    Thanks!

    Tom

  • Tom,

why do you want to load two instances of the same instrument?
You don't have to do that with Gigastudio (it's only necessary on the EXS version).
You can add a loaded instrument without a problem on two different midichannels.

Anyway, to make copies on the desktop just use the keyboard shortcuts:
    ctrl+c for copy
    ctrl+v for paste

or simply use the edit menu of any folder window.

    best

Thanks Herb....well, I must have misunderstood one of the posts up here at one point, I thought you couldn't have, say, two instances of the same patch using Perf Tool ....I'm want to play harmony lines on the legato VLNs....yes, I guess I missed the EXS part! Live and learn[;)]

Actually, you can just hold Ctrl while dragging the icon. See? PCs aren't inferior! [[;)]]
